Finding A Religion To Follow Poem by Mark Heathcote

Finding A Religion To Follow

Rating: 5.0

Finding a religion to follow
It's like trying on a new shoe.
That doesn't allow for airflow.
None are made to measure you.
And finding none of them fit
It is a bit disconcerting.
So, it isn't easy to commit.
Some are too snug, constricting.
If I had to make one choice
My first choice would be to go barefoot.
If I had to choose the second shoe
I am certain—well,
Nearly certain—it would have to be Hindu.
As like walking
It is just a way of life.
Dualism may be seen in pairs.
Here, it's only our feet that are jackknifed.
