Fire In The Sky Poem by G J Salgado

I watched from a distance as I saw a glow
I felt a feeling I have never known
Something new but familiar crossed my path
I tried to walk away but couldn't find my way back
Enticing wonder staring back at me
Somewhere between the sky and the sea
I lost myself there ten thousands times ago
I took his hand but where he leads me I'll never know
I brace myself once again before I go
I followed him into the darkness to find the light
Mesmerized by him and the moon in the night
Listening closely he whispered as he looked me in the eye
I knew what was to become once I witnessed the fire in the sky
I thought he came to steal what was left within my mind
But he was there for my soul the entire time
Music in my soul he was pure magic
He was beautiful and I was fantastic
Traveling through the cracks of time
I was the moon and the galaxies were mine
I loved him oh so madly
It was a moment that I needed so badly
Wild night had a hold on me
I won't escape so easily
He was my every breath yet I couldn't breathe
Falling further away from whatever I was before
Waiting from the other side of a one sided open door
In rushed the storm as I felt its core
I felt myself slipping away
I had to make it back from where I came
Lightning screamed as he called my name
His force pulled me closer into what seemed insane
Magnetic connection fueled and filled my brain
The only words that mattered was what he was saying
His lips moved the earth beneath the ground
My heart beat with the sound
Until nothing else could be heard
His finger on my lips I shouldn't say a word
All the stars glittered as gold
My skin and my heart soon became cold
My soul escaped unto his as if I died
There I was in his arms as our fire lit the skies
