First Day At School Or Soon After

Rating: 5.0

I had persimmon coloured flats
a sash to match;
a cream cotton dress

imprinted with silver scrolls;
a vest of grey velveteen;
a feeling it was holidays

every day
we're learning the alphabet!
and how to write block

letters on our own
and this is
almost worth

leaving home for.
