POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Fission and fusion are the power of the stars. Fission miles beneath the molten surface produces light and heat. On the surface, fusion is the star's recycling process, it takes the great heat of the fission process and the crushing gravity of the star to make elements fuse together.
