Flattered Dunce Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Flattered Dunce

Those who have manipulated their way,
To heights of a game to play.
Know who it is to pick.
That is easy to flatter.
Dupe and trick.
With a doing to maneuver,
One like this...
Who has questionable wealth.
And notoriety too!
As a tool to use,
To turn their own people into suckers.
Yet not know to be played,
On the World stage to be a fool.
Just to have their ego pleased,
By those who have the expertise...
To create division, racism and conflict.
Among the people who will,
Eventually believe it to see...
The length of one with ego,
And narcisstic values will go...
With a caring less who is betrayed.
To reveal who is and has been,
The biggest sucker of them all.

"Close your mouth! "

-I wish I could.
But what is being revealed,
I can not believe.-

"Why not?
One who brags about who they are.
And what they can do.
To fix this and that.
Yet leaves destruction,
Documented as fact.
What gave you a clue,
The one picked...
Slick with proven incompetence.
Also had a mind that is unglued."

-Well...
Appearances can be deceiving.-

"Although image to give it,
Is more accepting to approve.
Right? "

-I am lost for words.
Or can find them to describe,
My stupidity.-

"And,
I'm willing to bet,
You have lots of company.
On both sides of the great divide! "
