Nature burns her fiery brand,
across a parched great southern land
No heed of mans sagacious hand,
Her allies, the wind just howls
Of enemy she holds no fears, nor
threat from natures cloudy tear's
Her shroud of smoke like blackened scar's
Invades the day.
Hades! release unholy hell as bough and fence and dwelling fell,
Neither man nor burdened beast resist, her burning thirst can quell
Yet fire hose and non conscript insist-
This force we'll yet repel!
Still nature burns and claims her land, a kin some hungry whore
She burns and burns and burns and burns as her ancestors have before
All natures deadly force, fire, wind, rain,
of this we can be certain
She'll visit us again, (and again!)(and again!)

Excellent write. Deeply poignant and gripping. Yes, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Her wrath, we could never never repel. A great poem with superb imagery. Thank you for your comment on my poem.
