Flood Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Flood

Rating: 5.0

The water is rising in rivers
It's rushing down to gulp
The lowlands
It's in the valleys
Racing downward carrying with it
The mountains of dreams
People have left behind
All that they received
Or snatched from life
For the water is hungry
The water is angry
And hunger or anger
Neither waits nor thinks.

A very critical situation now due to flood. People and animals are suffering a lot due to lack of food and shelter. Nice write.

Moreover, your title doesn't provide us glimpses of flood scenario but it puts spotlight on its other dimensions. A great poem.

Water is metaphor that has two facets namely, hunger and anger. The characteristics of these two elements have been very aptly delineated here. I appreciate your perception about the consequences of flood.
