Fly On The Wall

Fly On The Wall

I am there, trembling inside.
Forgiveness another whatever it takes,
Another again.
Big words uttered from small lips &
farsighted eyes.
The genuine promise of one heart to another,
I am there, standing inside an abandoned building.
A million reasons to go, a million reasons to not
Look back.
Pain often voices it's opinion when the most
Damage has been done.
This damage often creates more havoc,
More resentment.
I am there, where this pain has voiced it's opinion,
The evidence all around.
Forgiveness another whatever it takes,
Another again.
Defending every reason to walk away.
You're no longer yourself, right now
You've become the last person whose abandoned
You without rhyme or reason.
Left trembling inside with nowhere to go.
The genuine promise of one heart to another,
The evidence all around.
Defending every reason to walk away,
There are over a million reasons to walk away,
Two million reasons to not look back.
To be a fly on the wall & not know that you can be
Anywhere but here.
Everything in me screams to fly out the door,
But I am most comfortable here
