Flying Blind Poem by Holly Jamestone

Flying Blind

Eyes of the world watch incredulously
As a large white bird flies blind
Its power and wingspan unfathomable to us
The speckled, pinhead dots on the ground

The eagle may have become sick mid-air
Yet no sign of torn bird wings or oily emesis afloat
Following his possible turning back, diversion or confusion
No probable heart attack of his engines

Did he have a stroke, with oxygen deprivation
Sinewy yellow plastic cups dangling inside of him
Or a kidnapping by a poisonous mind
A brain that needed to subside while trying to save face

A human type who built him and loved him unconditionally
Until the wellness turned to darkness and a plot to end life
Irrational to toy with “lives” of all those flying inside him as
Eyes of the world blink in shock and curiosity

Was this bird skyjacked and taken against his will
Now in an impenetrable nest in distant lands
Hidden from the world and Angel passengers
After inordinate hours of FLYING BLIND
