Flying For Hope Poem by Sandra Feldman

Flying For Hope

Where is your soul
Going?
Up to the sky,
To find some illusions
That will help it fly.
Here on Earth,
It just wants to die,
Seeing how injustice,
Won't give truth a try.

What a remarkable victory of HOPE, which is the one necessary virtue when others are lost or hiding deep in the psyche. But hope must be blessed with special ability to go up to heaven without wings but will soon get them (?) I hope so. Earth is a dangerous place for a shy virtue like kindness or reticence. How could a virtue like tenderness cope an angry twitter from a boor with all the answer and no gravitas? I am going to prepare a place of refuge in the middle air between earth and heaven for the dismayed virtues. It will have to be a sturdy platform from which the virtues will fly down to earth and hover over its toxic surface while imbuing people like me, you and _____ * with the necessary strength. (* Add as many names as you consider worthy! ! !)
