Footprints... - Poem by Gazal kothari

I didnot know where to go,
just went out of the house and started walking,
going on and on for miles together,
i'm quiet; no time for talking.

Wondering will i ever stop,
wondering whre my path ends,
wishing someone helps me,
so that he can guide me and we become best friends.

I came across a sandy way,
with lots of different foot prints that were easily seen,
some were large, some were small,
i didnt know which led to a good path and which were just meant to be cleaned.

I followed the ones which were of same size as my foot,
and on and on for miles together i went again,
it was funny to go on an unknown path,
but then it finally ended on a hilly terrain.

I was standing on a cliff, ahead was a heveanly place,
the sky had come down kissing the earth,
with rainbows alongside,
i was happy to know the path i chose was worth.

There was satisfaction in my heart,
i was so pleased with the sight,
i never wanted to return and wanted my soul to be there forever,
so i jumped from that height...............

Hey Its Deepa & I must say that u wrote quite unimaginable ending...But I really liked the 3rd & the 5th para...This poem definitely suggest a depressed mood...but the sand concept is lovely...Really nice altogether but I just wish that she had a parachute with her.. (Report) Reply
