For Cake-Decoration Day Poem by Walterrean Salley

For Cake-Decoration Day

Cake decoration's become an art form
Much to the baker's delight
With myriad designs and images
Much to the patron's delight.

Birds, psychedelics and a female shoe.
Candle, bride, groom and car too.
Baby to umbrella, toy and flower
And the image of a zoo.

But it's all in the good spirit of fun
Wherein true talent lay.
And the great cake bakers of my mom's day
Well, they all are gone away.
