For Elvis Poem by Richard Wlodarski

For Elvis

Rating: 5.0

Graceland homeland motherland
Land of the free and not so free
Elvis Aaron Presley
King wanting to be free
You've given us your heart and soul
In the name of rock and roll
Perhaps at the cost of your soul
Elvis we rock and rolled into jail houses
Imprisoning our immortal souls
We've felt the pain of your loneliness
As we cried into the wee hours of the morning
Are you lonesome tonight Elvis...
As you feel the pain within our pain
Have you reunited with your precious mother
Within the infinity of glorious heaven

I'm lonesome tonight Elvis...
I feel gut-wrenching pain...
And I thank you
For your essence...
Spirit being...

In 2016 there was not yet a ToMyPoemList or ToMyPoet'sList. That's why I cannot add POEM of TODAY and FOR ELVIS to myPoemList. Yes, PH is constantly evolving too. Thank you so much for sharing, Richard.

(2) In fact this so called colonel was an illegal citizen from the Netherlands. Even his own sister did never know where he had gone to, until his death. That was why Elvis never was on a World Tour, only the movies produced in Hollywood. Poor handsome Elvis, the fake colonel was his all. The Dutch people are the Chinese from the west, that means they have an innate born talent for trading. Though never on a World Tour, I have enjoyed very much
