For P.J. Poem by Fiona Davidson

For P.J.

Sleep overcame your senses
Chemicals mixed into a lullaby
Inducing silence on this place
I talked but did you really listen?
Eyes closed against the pain
Hours spent just hearing you breathe
Moments spent to say goodbye
Your hand in mine held tightly
Whispered words of lasting impact
You looked for just a short while
To see that I wanted you to leave
Then slipped so quietly from me
But you will always be here
Inside my heart, my darling friend
The rainbow shone for you tonight
As I watched it fade to grey clouds
I knew it was your time to soar
No angels stood here beside us
No god to lead you to heaven
Just my thoughts to guide you
And my love to carry you home
I hope you are looking down on me
And can see the pride I hold for you
Eternal thanks for having known you
Eternal love for being so blessed

Dedicated to P.J.06/03/54 to 01/09/09 R.I.P angel.

A wonderful personal tribute from one person to another who was deeply loved and cared for during ill times. Words can not do justice in describing the piece as it is deep, caring and heartfelt. Sid.

Never two people have I met so brave...one on a journey to the skies...the other to hold her head high with pride.....The love I saw was truley from two big hearts....rest now comes....Your poems are a tribute in themselves for you both to share some comfort in the knowledge that you cared deeply and lovingly... From your best friend...Sue....with love xx
