Forget Your Name Poem by Selene White

Forget Your Name

Where do I go from here?
Lost in the confusion of words left unsaid
Drowning in words so sweet
Cold as winter ice
I don't mind as much as I used to

Yet who was always there for you?
When she left you to rot in misery
When you couldn't find your own strength
When you didn't believe in love anymore

Here I am,
Arms heavy from carrying
All of these empty promises and words
You gave me as a cheap gift

Here I am,
Arms heavy from carrying
Memories that you don't care for
Kisses that never meant a thing

I refuse to be as cold as the winter before spring
I'll contunie on until I can no longer
Remember the taste of liquid fake gold
Til I forget your name

I'll forget the smile you hold in the morning
I'll forget your awful singing you do in the shower
I'll forget every word said
I'll forget just like that

There will be no one there to call your name
