Forgotten Poem by Romeo Della Valle

Forgotten

The years have flown
Time has grown
Here we are together
Gathering memories
We dare not forget
Of yesteryear, yet
Trapped by fears
Feeling the end is near!

The branches on the trees
Have grown older too
But still stand free
One thing has changed
Too much and that's
Family, we wonder why!

Each of us are in
One's own little world
Seldom seen or heard
We hold on to one
Another, as best friends
Do yet, lonely for the
Parties and celebrations!

We all once shared
Seasons change as
We did, all that's left
Is time to reminisce.
Of joyful moments
That once did exist
And it even makes
For melancholy mist!

Tears of what used
To be, seemingly
Like yesterday when,
Life was younger
Still trying to grasp
The thrill that's gone.
