Fortnight Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Fortnight

Rating: 5.0

This fort we see very closely.
At this night of deepness,
Some may feel again in mind
That a night has become fort,
Or fort has no light at all
And that is why it is fort's night
This word seems to be mysterious.

Truly fortnight is a unit of time,
In ancient days people have measured,
One unit of two weeks is calculated,
One fortnight carries fourteen days,
From fourteen nights this word comes,
And we dream to build a fort of dreams
In this period of time with night angels,
There is no confusion in mind
A fortnight is needed for a memory fort!

Some wonderful imagery here, the night isn't just a fort its a castle, in which our dreams are born. not just a 10 but a 100!

Night explained as a fort has motivated mind and this is explained with beauty of hope and dignity. This is an interesting poem shared.

As I read this, I can now see the night as a fort. It affords protection, brings rest, and restorative powers take over in sleep. The night as fort, fortnight. Great imagination, Kumarmani. This poem goes to myfavourites.

From fourteen nights this word comes, Very correctly said, many feel that a fortnight is fifteen days. All about fortnight! Memory fort!
