Fortunate Are The Ones Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fortunate Are The Ones

Fortunate are the ones,
Who witness to identify their blessings.
How they were delivered.
And what they've done,
To receive them when they come.

Some perceive it to believe,
All they should do...
Is to continue to praise God.
With flattery on Sundays.
In their churches then to leave.
Then to expect their misdeeds,
Done to others throughout the week.
Should be enough for them to receive,
Their blessings to get...
Without remaining devoted.
Yet quoting a few scriptures.
Faking a faith as most hypocrites do.
To then think it is okay,
Doing what they please to deceive.
As if The Most High and Mighty God,
Has approved what they do.
While ignoring those who tolerate,
Being disrespected and treated less...
Than human beings without God to know this.

Fortunate are the ones.
Who witness what they have done.
To have their blessings bestowed.
Upon them to eventually come.
How they were delivered.
And who it was to identify themselves,
As those who pretend to be of faith.
On a daily basis to fake it.
Yet will do something wicked.
With this as if to prove,
On Sunday all they have to do...
Is pray their misdeeds away.
While Thee Almighty God awaits to be flattered.
