Forty Quatrains On Battlefield [37- 39] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Forty Quatrains On Battlefield [37- 39]

1.Chozhan Chenganan, whose fertile land being watered by the river
Kaveri, killed his foes in the war.The profuse bleeding from the bodies
of the kings dead streamed down in all the sides. The drums and elephants were carried away. As the boats moved in the sea of blood,
the elephants dead were carried away.
2.Chozhan Chenganan had the might to fight, a garland of pearls
on his chest and the anklets around his legs. He killed his foes
in the battle. The elephants decked with stout manes got fatal injuries
and they were weltering like thunderstruck cobras.
3. Chengan Chozhan, the king of the Kavri river valley killed the Chera king in the battle. Banning the legs of the brave men from going out,
the handle broken white royal umbrellas, looked like the vessels
with red curry broth.
