Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Four Pearls Inlaid Ornament

20. Without a good wife, worsens the family life.
Lack of good friends makes useless the town you reach.
Lack of wise elders in an assembly spoils it.
The body without learning goes to nothing.

21. Without support, one's strength is marred.
Immoral acts spoil the golden handsome body.
The milk poured in a dirty bowl mars its taste.
Friendship with the unfit destroys one's clan.

22. One's shining truth brings fame. Ignorance insults
others. Illiteracy opens not the eyes
of learning but blinds them. Education clears
the dark ignorance and gives the eyes of wisdom.
