Fragrant Flowers Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Fragrant Flowers

I’m reminded by a fragrance in bloom…
White lilies reappearing in mid-August
Clinging images once again resume
Prompted by the onset of dimming dusk

An amazing aromatic scent filled the air
As magnificent Hosta flora flourished
Magnetically drawing you nearer to share…
Fibers of your being were nourished

Truly the moment was transcending
The distance between us disappeared
Years of toil and tears were ending
No regrets were said as good-byes neared

As the darkness of night took its tally
The warmth of day faded away
The sweet smell of Summer’s finale
Fills my mind again today…
