SOBRIETY
Your honor just because my client was on his hands
and knees in the middle of the road at midnite does
not in itself indicate any sign of non sobriety.
I submit, your honor, it would seem he was attempting
to roll up the white line.

DAMSEL IN DISTRESS
She received a threatening letter and asked me to
sit with her because she was frightened.A week
or so later, after smooching comfortably she thanked
me and said she wasn't frightened any more.
I think it's time I wrote another letter.

KNOCK KNOCK
Who's there?
King Tut
King Tut who?
King Tut-key fried chicken.

HAPPINESS
Here my good man, is a fifty dollar bill. I want you to
go to a good restaurant and have the meal of your life.
He did this and tipped the waiter heavily. Now everyone
is happy. The vagabond is full and happy the waiter is
rewarded and happy. And I am happy because my new
batch of fifty dollar bills has apparently passed inspection.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

That rolling up the white line reminds me of an incident in a very funny Irish TV series called " Father Ted" . about priests. Because of a past bit of naughtiness (cheating at a football game) . Father Ted has been set a forfeit, kicking his Bishop up the! The Bishop is to leave after one unsuccessful attempt so they tell him that because of the rain they've had to roll up all the roads. Being thick, the Bishop believes it.
