Freedoms Crushed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Freedoms Crushed

One known to fraud,
An image false to represent...
Values cemented,
In symbols to idolize...
A presentation of truth.
Hidden to disguise,
Lies to address.
With an imitation to impress.

Eventually delivers to the people,
Pieces of a puzzle.
Nearly impossible,
To put back together again.
Leaving hopes.
And dreams to keep them,
Maintained in an obtained greatness.
Rusted to dust.

Once it has been shown to make known,
Deceptions to have praised.
Has left them crazed.
Replacing their right to freedoms,
Crushed!

Busted by power to lust it as a must.
All their freedoms,
Crushed.
And thrown right under a bus.
Loaded with thieves feasting greed.
To have given their corruption,
Every opportunity...
To feed their selfish needs.
Accepted to trust,
Their deeds were wholesome.
Never to leave the people,
Anguished in depths,
Of bottomless dusgust.

Yet left crushed!
All their freedoms.
Thrown right under a bus.
Rolled over by corruption.
While feasting thieves,
Sold to sell their misdeeds.
People consciously or not,
Accepted the frauding deceived...
Too late to believe,
Values crushed.
Under a bus by the ones they trusted!
