Friends For Life Poem by Laquory Jones

Friends For Life

Sometimes I just sit and I spin with this pen dripping Ink between lines
That are super-thin while breathing in my dense oxygen
Just taking in my second wind you just gained a friend
When in pain you just count to ten I recommend that you do this
No need to fight alone I'm on the same side that you're on
It's just us against the world as it remains in perils
We live in the world of terrors but there's no need to be discouraged
I'll be your inner courage your inner strength until the bitter-end
We as poets continues to grow drawing pictures from our soul
Helping readers to relate perhaps they too can come alive and find
Some enlightenment through the darkness in their lives
I'm just saying that we are all meant to survive
Together we can strive perhaps we'll grow in time
As the passion ignites I just want to express my pain
Or mistakes I might have made along the way pouring
Regret and disgust just to show you the humanity that lives in
All of us because we all do what we must and if that includes putting
In all our trust into the readers hoping that they'll eventually convey
Every word that we say that's all we could hope for and nothing more

I've been around the clock working until I'm orange
(I'm a clockwork orange)painting pictures in high
Voltage just to show you what I have in storage
My life became a painted mural cemented through
The fabric of time you begin to live life through my
Eyes you and I become interlined we both remained
One of a kind as we continue to live out our lives
Life was never what it seemed I see you smile but
You're broken underneath (broken indeed)But
You thought I couldn't see the broken pieces
Embedded from the rivers-deep you cry but not
One hears a peep with tears running down your
Cheeks in streams in the end we're all just treading
Water but no longer do you have to live in sorrow
The truth is there will always be better tomorrows
In the end I'm just a reader like you we all have
Obstacles that we have to fight through
But, no doubt that you will make it through (It's true)
