Frigid Rigid - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Frigid Rigid - Lincoln Park Zoo

We outdoors swans and ducks sure do
Thank keepers for breaking the ice
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
We waterfowl think that's so nice.
The keepers have to be well donned
In protective layers to be
Right here with us in our pond,
Working to make it more ice free.
It is a frigid winter day.
The keepers work fast, because if
For too long the keepers do stay,
They would become quite frozen stiff.

The keepers we appreciate
For all they do - they're really great.
