from "While Passing Through"/Spring
From the spring tree
a burst of twittering
from its leaves.
An invisible concert. You create some mystery about its source: are those twittering leaves which you can see part of the music? Is the tree itself in its springtime glory an aspect of music? There is a complex here - birds, leaves, breeze, spring - all are involved in this musical concert.
hey, daniel! first, thank you for your careful reading and comments. i seem to, think, i read something like this in one of your poems. i respond as one who knows trees themselves can't make this sound, suspect it comes from birds, but fail to see a one as i'm scanning with my eyes while walking by. in another place i associate twittering in the warming sun of dawn with the pores of earth opening. -glen
Spring tree could be such a loving and lively object. Thanks, Glen. It shows your love of nature.
Thank you, Rajnish. Of course we know the twittering is from birds, but trying to see them in the foliage can seem difficult if not impossible. Blessings to you! -Glen
