Garage Sale

Rating: 5.0

An old lady
Sitting on a chair
Giving away memories
For what it is worth of!
Garage sale-
America's sweetheart!

It is very sad when a person's favorite vases, figurines, scarves, baseball bat etc is put up for sale... as in in desperate need of money? as in moving into a small senior citizen facility? as in children do not want to carry forward these mementos of who you were? Ouch! ! ! This poem is very sad beneath its calm words...

Thank you Susan for your comment. Yes sad as it is, it is the reality of life.

Memories for sale. That is what the garage sale presents. Beautifully brought out in the poem.
