Gaslight Poem by Ima Ryma

Gaslight

1940's film, 'Gaslight, ' be
When the term of to gaslight came.
A wife fears for her sanity
And her husband's lies are to blame.
The husband does manipulate
Bright and dim of their home gas lights,
Then tells his wife she's in ill state
When she questions the altered sights.
I feel sorry for this poor wife.
I can't even imagine this,
Thinking over my married life
I'm filled with sanity and bliss.

I've never been gaslighted cuz
My husband says I never was.
