Genius Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Genius

Uncertainty is to success,
As proclaiming failure to delude...
Progress to have been achieved.

And humiliation for some to come,
Done to receive it publicly...
Is for them a feeling of ecstasy.
Like none other to describe.

"I don't want to be the one,
To tell you...
The strings on your high flying kite,
Have been cut.
But...
Few.
Among the few of the very few,
Would hear of their own kite...
Taking a nose dive into flames.
To think of this as victorious.
And...
Quite a different perspective,
On life to live."

-I know.
And between you and me.
That's how much of a genius I am.-
