Geronimo - Poem by Randy Lane

Sir! I have heard the beating of a distant drum
calling out to Geronimo now he must run
Into the mountains and there he must stay
to gain his freedom and fight another day
Geronimo - Geronimo you must be free
the way of a warrior this they will see
All through your life you had longed for peace
but the hounding of the soldiers would never cease
They said you surrendered but you never gave in
it was in God that you trusted not the white man
Who spoke of a country where you you could live free
but the treaty they promised could never be

I loved it. I am Apache so I guess I would go searching for something like this. :) (Report) Reply
