Get the monkey off your back,
But be kind to an ape;
Though it takes the lice away,
It might bite your nape.
In the night the tormentor
Turns into worst nightmare;
Instead of dreaming of success,
You feel like in the lion's lair.
The wounds are created
By the hassle haunting you;
Let losses turn into gains,
And take you out of the blue.
Let successive failures
Become a shining victory;
Let triumph be like the waves
That come rolling across the sea.
Let your broken heart heal,
Let your faith fill its crack;
Never be afraid of obstacle,
Get the monkey off your back.
At various times, I have had a monkey on my back and I could not get it off my bank for years. I likewise hope that 'Let successive failures/ Become a shining failure'. So uplifting.
Let your broken heart heal, Let your faith fill its crack; Never be afraid of obstacle, Get the monkey off your back.......touching expression with nice theme. A beautiful poem so nicely executed.
