Heartaches Will Never Last - Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Heartaches will never last,
Nor will they forever stay;
Sorrow shall be replaced
By joy each passing day.

Once in a little while
Hearts may break and bleed;
It happens to anyone,
To call on God and plead.

The colors of life
Are not only lucid and bright;
But also dark, blue and gray,
To even the day and night.

Pain and hopelessness
Are only in one's mind;
They may be wiped out,
So leave them both behind.

No one else can cure
But you yourself alone;
Fervent devotional prayers
Shall take you from cry zone.

Smile the sweetest smile
And the world smiles too;
Cry the saddest moan,
You shall find it's only you.

Getting out of the blue
Is easier said than done;
But with God on your side
Impossible thing is none.

Forgiveness from the heart,
Forgetting things of the past;
You shall now realize,
Heartaches will never last.

    Truth
    Often times people think that pain will last forever...but it does not have to be so. With God on our side, the pain passes so fleetingly if we let Him have it. If we give it over...set it aside to go under His wings. Instead of nurturing and feeding the pain...we give it away...the pain goes quickly. And yes, each and every day is joyous and blessed. God IS so good to us! When I look back on certain relationships in my life...I can remember the pain at the end...but it never lasted as long as I thought it would. And soon enough love bloomed again in the open wounds. (Report) Reply

    Brilliant and very touching poem, we know heartaches will eventually fade, but while we are experiencing them it feels like they're going to fill our hearts with pain and sadness forever. Really wonderful poem, love it! Thank you for sharing it. RoseAnn (Report) Reply
