This is all I have left to give you.
The truth, hanging on a silver string.

I gave you all I had,
all I was,
all I ever hoped to be.
You took it gladly.
You took my heart and
you took my smile.
You took my breath away.
You took my pride.
You left me in the dark,
the darkest moment
with biting words and
bitter feelings.
You took my trust
and left me bleeding.
You took hold of me.
You took my everything.

All I ever took
was it for granted that you
never would.
