Give Me A Kitkat Kitty Poem by Paula Glynn

Give Me A Kitkat Kitty

I don't apologise that I want a kitkat,
I need my chocolate fix,
And pain and pleasure don't mix.
For I love that kitkat Kitty,
Chocolate that melts on my tongue,
And makes me feel like a rebel and young,
For it is a hot day and I should want ice cream,
But without a kitkat I will scream,
And I love a good scream Kitty.
And I think of the sunny day ahead,
As I eat my breakfast of cereal,
And I feel joy for a day I shall enjoy,
I am not poor: I am rich and in need of chocolate,
And I watch my pet cat eat her meat,
So cute and sweet that her presence shines,
For she is my pet cat called Kitty,
And she was a gift when I wished upon the stars,
Kitty watching me eat my kitkat,
For my cat loves sleeping on my bed,
And her cat eyes love watching me eat chocolate bars.
I should tell people of this addiction,
But I don't think they'd understand,
Like they wouldn't get me drinking a bottle of rum,
That dulls sensations like the setting of the sun,
That shines brightly on my face every morning,
Kitty lying against my tummy.
And I shall be thinking of that kitkat all day,
Refreshing like a bottle of coca-cola,
That I love so much, and I love cherry crush,
For my cherry has been well and truly popped,
And happiness cannot be stopped,
No matter the jealousy.
And no one steals my money,
For I am sweeter than a nectar full of honey,
And people are like bees and no one sees,
These chocolate covered fingers that eats with relish,
For freedom to eat kitkats shall not perish,
And kitkat Kitty is who I cherish, mum and dad.
