Giving Up Mucho Bucks Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Giving Up Mucho Bucks

We all face a growing in stages.
And no one does this to do,
Refusing to accept,
Aging to expect this to happen.
Without the process of graduating,
From one step to another.

To stay remaining the same unchanged,
Is...
A thought for many too unbearable.
Too painful of an acknowledgement.
Although a fact of life to live.
No matter who it is that wishes,
A youthful glow in full bloom kept...
Has for them,
This option to eliminate aging to regret.

We all face a growing in stages to age.
From a seed to witness bud.
Leaving behind to find something else.
Revealed to discover,
An unknown about another including ourselves.
Whether or not we approve,
Expect it or forgive...
Those who lie and try to hide,
Their aging done to do to then deny...
Using tons of moisturizer,
Applied day and night.
Or being occasionally snipped and tucked,
With a giving up of mucho bucks.
Handed over to a smiling plastic surgeon.
Who with them will agree periodically,
What is needed to maintain...
That youthful appearance.
And tightness kept lifted upon their cheeks!

"You look...
As if you have captured the Sun."

-Thank you.
Although my recent visit,
Has me unable to sit.
My doctor has assured me,
In a few weeks...
I won't even notice it.-

"What was it that you had done?
Your face looks terrific."

-Well...
I thought if I had a few 'dimples' removed,
From my butt.
More compliments I would get.
Hoping to return,
That youthful strut I miss.
Although now I admit,
The cost of that expense had been unnecessary.-
