God gave us water, fire and air
For us to drink and cook and breathe,
For us he does love and does truly care
Now we were able to create and conceive.
God gave us our own voices
So, unto each other we could converse,
What we spoke was our own choices
And many times we did in verse.
God then also gave us our ears
To listen closely and to understand quite clearly,
As we heard pain and joy, happiness and fears
And we felt it soulfully and dearly.
God gave us our heart and soul
He gave us strength and our desire
To give us strength to reach our every goal,
Greater than Hell's fire.
God gave us all that we needed
As the world and our feelings we would explore,
As we fell and cried and also smiled and succeeded
Then we received a gift one more.
God then gave us the greatest gift
When love and happiness we would seek,
And the very souls it would astound and lift
God gave us music.
