God, How Long This Pain! Poem by Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi

God, How Long This Pain!

Rating: 5.0

Wars of hearts fought in the world,
Not only twice but on daily basis,
Occupied our home land,
Called themselves as the bosses,
Tactics of natives employed,
To take back what little the natives had,
The stones from Edinburgh paved the roads,
Of London, the royal jewels from the distant land,
Still safe in the vault of the crown,
Suppression, oppression and destruction,
To build the houses in Europe and US,
Suddenly they have become the teachers,
Lecturing us what democracy is!
Teaching us how we can progress,
Using their time proved blue prints!
Preaching us the importance of energy,
Having built their portable nuclear plants,
These teachers from the land where sun sets last,
Never realized that sun rises here first,
To feed the milk rays from the breast,
Then they suck from the salivated pods,
What is the use of having the wisdom of poverty,
When they have extracted the prosperity out of it?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Man has not changed a bit from his oppressing and suppressing nature. If the barbarian of the past roamed with drawn swords to capture lands and loot wealth, these days we see the civilized and cultured man grills the neighbour with his mobile nuclear plants. New ideas are striking! *****
