God Laughing
Ever noticed sometimes
how laughter
can seem so far away?
Another season, another year.
Another lover, another tear.
And neither praying to your idols,
nor the dreamers you believe,
will tell you if your lover
is everything you need.
For needs are only
moments passing,
and time is only God
he’s laughing.
I enjoyed the way this was crafted and the smooth way it flowed. The first stanza caught my attention, the last really brought it home.
