Good Enough Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Good Enough

Nothing done is good enough.
To be appreciated.
For those who want more.
Never to be pleased.
Nothing done is good enough.
To be appreciated.
Whether given or received.

To do something less,
People expect it.
To do something more,
People disrespect.
Today to do less,
People accept this.
And those who do more,
Folks seem to reject.

And people wonder why no pride is shown.
And the people live their lives,
Just to moan and sigh.
And people wonder why no one is known,
To show a love to feel inside.

Today to do less,
People expect this.
And to do more,
People reject.
Yet to hear them express,
How much disrespect they get.
They're the ones giving it,
To the ones they neglect.

Nothing done is good enough.
To be appreciated.
For those who want more.
Never to be pleased.
Nothing done is good enough.
To be appreciated.
Without criticism on it poured.

It is better,
To do a good deed.
And leave it,
Good enough.
To do and leave it,
Good enough.
To do and leave.

These days it is better,
To do a good a deed...
And leave.
Feeling what you've done is good enough.
And leave.
Feeling what you've done is good enough.
Left to leave.
