The penguins and the polar bear,
Next door neighbors in time and place,
But not in the wild anywhere.
We do not share the arctic space,
Where only polar bears be found.
But as ambassadors we do
Come together on common ground,
All sharing the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Of course, face to face we don't meet.
The polar bear would find it good
To grab a penguin and to eat.
That would disrupt the neighborhood.
So when you visit, do come forth,
Penguins south and polar bear north.
