POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Baxter invented the character Concrete Grady as an ordinary working man who yet has trouble fitting into the system. Grady likes to smoke and drink, probably too much.
Grady is receiving shock treatment in a mental hospital. He loses sight of God (the Trinity)when they push the switch. He asked a mate for a match, in the yard. He sees fire in Heaven and 'burnt patches in the wheatfield of the stars. This makes me think of a painting by Van Gogh.

There is fire in Heaven. Through the bars and burnt pieces of wheat fields are seen. This poem is very brilliantly penned by the poet ad very interestingly and nicely translated by your kind self. This poem is definitely very nice.10
