Gratitude Of A Penguin

Sometimes, lower animals show
Practically and emotionally do
Something man can hardly imagine
Such, I'm gonna tell about a penguin,

João Pereira de Souza,
A 73 year old part-time fisherman
This guy lives in an island village
Just outside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;

João found a tiny penguin at his local beach
Lying on rocks
It was oil covered could barely move
And was near to death;

João cleaned its oil covered feathers
Fed a daily diet of fish
To recover its strength
He named the penguin Jin Jing;

Jin Jing is South American Magellanic Penguin
Every year Jin Jing leaves
The breeding grounds, its surroundings
To return to João,

Swimming a long distance of the sea
Approximately 5,000 miles
To be reunited with João
Who saved (rescued) its life.
