Great Joy Nature Always Bring Poem by Francis Duggan

Great Joy Nature Always Bring

At the dawn of the day the birds whistle and sing
The wonders of Nature a beautiful thing
My feelings on her in words I cannot say
How great for to wake for to greet the new day
One of Nature's leading songsters of the Spring of the year
The voice of the blackbird melodious and clear
From males of his own kind his patch he defend
They sense by the tone of his voice he's not one to pretend
The male silver billed magpie he sung through the night
How pleasant to hear him in the dawn's gray light
The gray shrike thrush the goldfinch and the greenfinch in song
And the sparrows in the hedgerow with them chirp along
Whether Summer or Autumn or Winter or Spring
To so many great joy Nature always bring.
