Greek myths and legends were once the crowning glory
Of Western culture. They were multi- layered and
Informed our consciousness. O they were not only
A great influence on the likes of Shakespeare,
Shelley and Keats, but Freud and Jung as well: so rich
With meaning. Now they've been abandoned: replaced by
The dumbed down, bargain bin monstrosities of the
Media age. O how long will we stand for this
Squalid state of affairs? We need a revival
Of the Arts: from poetry, painting to music.
