Green Eyes Poem by Reva Kern

Green Eyes

Green Eyes

Eyes that never see me
For distrust or for decency
Eyes of emerald and gold
Powerfully is how they contemplated me
I wish that they comforted me
Beautiful eyes that I adore
I am sad and I implore you
Bending knee on the ground
Mercy for him who humbles himself,
Eyes of emerald and gold!

Eyes that reflect
The twilight star
Green eyes like the sea
Like the sea by the shore
Eyes of enchanting fire
Unaware of what it is to cry
Glorifying my torment
Don't devastate me thus!
Have compassion on me
Green eyes like the sea

Whose eyes desire love
Cause happiness as much as grief
Eyes the color of hope
With remoteness of the sky
Eyes that filter like a veil
Radiate bliss
My soul spears yours
On wings of intoxication
See me only one time
Eyes the color of hope

Cease already your diversion
Eyes that distress me
Eyes with the aspect of leaves
Soak of dew
Misty splendor of the river
That which eludes adorning me
Light from the blushing sun
And whose touch are kisses
Scatter on me with those
Eyes with the countenance of leaves.
