They can't write for toffee,
Certain people haven't got a clue.
The same old same old same old,
Groundhog Day poems is all they do.
They seem to use a template,
Change the odd word or two.
The content is still repetitive,
A new poem with nothing new.
Perhaps they need inspiration,
And fresh imagination to boot.
To present something innovative,
Not dreary poetry so convolute.
I wish all well for the future,
To hopefully change said ways.
And if that sunny day arrives,
I will bask within its glaze.
Hi Shaun this is so true and it's also so sad, because there are so many things to write about..imagination is the key and then a sprinkling of inspiration and the courage to tackle something different..Love this Shaun full marks for this one my friend! Lodigiana x
Excellent rhyming poem Shaun...and yes it's sad but true. I think that reading widely and in depth is a great way to stimulate the imagination or perhaps watch interesting films and contemplate art works.... anything to avoid the Ground Hog Day scenario which you so sardonically set out. It's certainly a time to start afresh ten from me!

Yes! Good points there Dominic and thank you. To read a novel albeit a classic for they contain a myriad of info' and imagery. Films too, art works are the real clincher to visit a museum and behold them. And not see through them but at them, to study how the light shines on a marble figurine, to listen to people's reactions and hear their views, For it's all about first impressions and all power to a poet's elbow and imagination armoury then weave a poem or two from. That human touch.
