Grow Slowly Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Grow Slowly

Rating: 5.0

Grow slowly in love with me.
Take your time.
Let your heart unwind
The tangled vine of memories
That have been strangling you.

Grow firmly in love with me.
Do it right.
Set down roots in my fertile soil.
Let my love run up your trunk
To feed the leaves that would bud.

Grow mighty in your love for me.
Steal the light.
Stretch your branches over me.
Reach for the sun above and work alchemy
To achieve sequoian stature.

You I will nourish.
You I will mold.
You I will foster.
You I will hold.

If you will but stay with me.
