Growing Deaf Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Growing Deaf

Rating: 5.0

I have grown deaf to the others
As I watch yr mouth curse me out
I see yr blue eyes turned black with anger
But I don't say anything
As a tear falls onto my cheek
I comforted it after you leave
I have grown deaf to the advice of not seeing you
However, I am blinded to the darkness
Of the blue and black of my skin
For after the fight, the sweet love
Sweeps me in once more
I have grown deaf to the streets
Until the car ran over me
And the driver was you
