'Half The Stories I Told' Poem by Essambeh Ebai Essambeh

'Half The Stories I Told'

Unbelievable at times the verses might have been,
half the stories I told are still left unforeseen.
Written on placid hearts, still buried in doubts,
'I love you' has never felt colder than it is now.
Different variants told, not just the version of a kiss,
Even closed ones, no longer believe.
Every lie, every broken promise has now become the company of many,
On faithful lips they parade with shows, another call from florins.
Beautiful strangers, many customers on one table finally immersed in smiles.
'I love you' gone cold but many couldn't see through the lie.
The tale continues and many still fall prey,
Half the stories I told. I pray you understand and see through the jokes you thought they were one day.
