Hallucinogen Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Hallucinogen

When did truth to speak it.
Become a negative.
And when did mental abuse,
Produce so much attention to get.

There is something about dishonesty,
That people prefer to enjoy it heard.
Knowing they are being told lies.
With it done to then refuse,
Denial they use as a cover-up for alibis.
To then expect and get help,
For problems they start.
But won't accept,
Steps to get them solved.

When did truth to speak it.
Become such a pain that remains offensive.
And a defense mechanism.
To stop and prevent it.

I am sure others too,
Wonder why like I do.
That perhaps this is the reason,
Those who choose to stay positive.
Most of the time.
Are thought to be out of their minds.
And phony.
Suspected be taking something subscribed.
Like an hallucinogen.
And knowing when it is time released.
Since today those who are positive,
Are suspected of doing something...
Smothering up to cover their feelings of guilt.
